Scriptures to read during the 10 ten days from Rosh Hashanah to Yomkippur:
Isaiah 33:21-22:
21 But there the majestic Lord will be for us
A place of broad rivers and streams,
In which no galley with oars will sail,
Nor majestic ships pass by,
22 For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us);
In the 7th month on God’s calendar the Ark of the covenant is taken to Yerusalem by King Solomon:
2Chronicles 5:3-5:
3 Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.
4 So all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites took up the ark.
5 Then they brought up the ark, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle.
The priests and the Levites brought them up.
Hebrews 7:1-7
On the 10th day of Tishrei (the 7th month) is a day of atoning, and covenanting our ten attributes back to God:
Leviticus 23:28-33:
28 And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.
From the 9th of Tisahrei until the 10th, is a day of fasting a dry fast for almost 25, 26 hours:
Leviticus 23:29-32:
29 For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that same day shall be cut off from his people.
30 And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.
31 You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
32 It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls;
on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.”
The King of Righteousness Yeshua Hamashiac:
Hebrews 7:1-7:
7 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God,
who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,”
and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” 3 without father, without mother,
without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.
5 And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood,
have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law,
that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham;
6 but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.
Malachi 3:10-13
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;
12 “And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
The covenant that makes God the fighter of our battles:
2 Corinthians 10:4-6
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
